Lesson 14

10/4/08
I flew with Larry yesterday and had no problem making nice landings, I think I got it now. The first landing I rounded out a bit steep and lost to much speed for a smooth landing and since Larry is a stickler for not using the power on landing the landing was a bit to slow and no flare, just plonked the trike down, no problem but not nice, could have a problem if landing like that in a stronger cross wind. After that I made sure to keep the speed up with a smoother round out and get a nice flare on the landing. This morning ( Sunday) Larry has to many other students from Mexico and I won't be flying. I wish I was solo so I could fly, it looks like a great morning to fly. I think the next few lessons will be power out landings, which won't be a problem since I already come in from a 1000 feet on idle from base to finals. Then maybe a few simulated emergency engine out landings in the field before I go solo.
