Flying Lessons 12

Well, I thought I was going to nail the landing on this lesson but what a disaster. I had my head all screwed up with what Larry told me. He is right in what he explained but things are a bit different when you want the back wheels to touch down and when you only want to fly with the back wheels on the runway. I made the big mistake by pulling in on the bar when I was 12 " above the runway (thinking I am putting the back wheels on the ground) instead of pushing out to keep the Trike flying. The result of what I was doing was to fly the trike into the runway getting a huge balloon effect and bouncing the trike. In my mind I wanted the back wheels to touch then push the bar forward but it should be all done the other way around. Keep on pushing the bar out to keep the trike flying until the back wheels touch then give a hard push to the front to keep the front wheel from slamming into to runway. I got it right with a few bunny hops along the runway before taxing back to the hanger. I am looking forward to the next lesson because I think I got it now...haha..we will see.
